Certified Pharmacy Technician

A Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) Orients student to the work of pharmacy technicians and the context in which a technician’s work is performed. Introduce Pharmacy practice, standards of practice, certification, pharmacy associations and opportunities available to the pharmacy technician. Provide general overview of Pharmaceutical care in the scheme of health care and role of the pharmacist and the pharmacy technician in its delivery. Students gain an appreciation for the value of obtaining technician certification, and the benefits of technician’s active involvement in local, state, and national pharmacy organizations.


ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants who are not beyond the compulsory school age must have earned a high school diploma or a general equivalency diploma.
